These subjects were originally conceived as very large stamen. Then what came to mind was “angle of perspective.” What was I looking at and from what position? Are they breaking ground, are they fully developed? I started thinking about luminosity for no particular reason other that how would it look against these monoliths. Early morning sun came to mind creating light on a possible horizon. The sun here, being the source of energy and growth, has come to reflect on its achievement.
